Leeks

The “Puerro de Sahagún” (“Sahagún’s leek”) is, no doubt, our main product and we sell it in conserve as well as natural. In order to achieve the most of its possibilities we manufacture and pack leeks in different formats according to its size.

The careful manufacturing of this product keeps the leek characteristics unaltered. We preferably pack the “neck of the leek” as it is the most delicious part of it. We also produce leek cream to eat as mashed food and to be used as the basis to cook vichisoisse by adding milk or milk cream into it.

We are still making some research in order to get some other utilities and possibilities of this versatile product.

Young Garlic (ajetes)

It is another of our homeland cooking treasures as antique as unknown.

We proudly confirm that this product is not unnoticed by the strictest palates of our country.

The Young Garlic consists in the young plants of garlic (obtained before the development of its bulb) which are peeled, washed and chopped manually. Then, we pack them without spoiling the scent, texture and flavour of a fresh product.

Leguminous:

The leguminous products are mandatory in the Mediterranean pattern of eating.  Our local area belongs to Tierra de Campos, a region with especial tradition in the production of cereals and qualified leguminous. So, we produce and pack:

Lenteja pardina (brown lentils); the most characteristic and appreciated of our leguminous products even above other types of lentils.

Alubia; (bean) The river banks of the reivers of León have been related to the production of the beans not only in the past but also in present times with more strength.

Garbanzo; (Chick-pea)The typical homeland chick-pea is the “pedrosillano”    (“the little one”). It’s commonly appreciated by its flavour, smoothness and delicacy in contrast with other kind of peas.

Thistle and other vegetables:

The horticultural richness of our land seems to have no end; nevertheless the weather hardness selects those products that can adapt better to the cold temperatures. These are thistle, all kind of sprouts and spinach beets.
